School Admissions


Service Description: The School Admissions Service co-ordinates school admissions for the Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight has 49 community, foundation, church aided and academy schools. There are: 41 primary schools (for pupils aged 4 to 11); 6 secondary schools (for pupils aged 11 to 19); 2 mixed-sex special schools (for pupils aged 4 to 11 and 11 upwards).

Question: When will I receive a letter telling me which school my child can attend in September 2013?

Answer: Letters to parents of year 6 pupils transferring to year 7 in September 2013 will be posted by 2nd class post on 1 March 2013. (If you applied on-line you will receive an e-mail on 1 March 2013 which will be followed up by a letter giving full details) *****
Letters to parents of pupils starting primary school in September 2013 will be posted 2nd class on 16 April. (If you applied on-line you will receive an e-mail on 16 April followed up by a letter giving full details)
