Service Description: In accordance with the Gaming Act 1967 and the Lotteries and Amusement Act 1976 any prospective occupiers of amusement parks, arcades and other premises where gaming machines or amusements with prizes will be provided, must first obtain a permit issued by the local authority. The precise permit required depends on the maximum prize value.

Question: I want to have a fruit machine on my premises. Do I need a licence?

Answer: You will usually need an Amusements with Prizes licence. However, certain classes of premises not permitted to have fruit machines, and others are restricted as to the number of machines they can have.
