Isle of Wight BCU geographic sector information is sourced from the monthly Crime Spreadsheets

published by Corporate Services each month on Public Folders.

The BCU is made up of 6 sections, these being ZC Cowes, ZH Yarmouth, ZP Newport,

ZR Ryde, ZS Shanklin and ZT Ventnor.

Sector ZP, ZR and ZS form Sectors in their own right

Sections ZC, ZH and ZT are grouped together to form the Rural Sector.

NB Figures on Criminal Damage include Arson, as downloads from ACR includes Arson

in with Criminal Damage.

NOTES RELATING TO THE BCU SCORECARD AT THE END OF THIS PROFILE

NOTE: House burglaries are per 1000 households, all other crime is per 1000 population

Each sector has been formatted to show the total number of crimes and detections in the

year to date for each crime type reported on. Percentage detection rates have also been calculated

for the year to date and for each month of the current reporting year.

The Sector Targets are those used by the BCU Management Team

and have been applied to both crimes and detections.

All the Sector Graphs show the crime and detection targets for each crime type per month.

The yellow line showing the target number of crimes and the pale blue line

showing the target number of detections.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING WHICH APPLIES TO THE SCORECARD AT THE END OF THIS DOCUMENT

All Figures shown in Red are 2002/2003 Targets or based on 2002/2003 Targets and Require NEW 2003/2004 Targets to be inserted

into this document, this is dependant upon receiving accurate data from ONS on Population and Households numbers at Beat

level, this information is not expected to be available until 30th June 2003 at the earliest
