APPOINTMENT OF A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT VICTIM SUPPORT SCHEME

REASON FOR SELECT COMMITTEE CONSIDERATION
To consider making a nomination for the appointment of a Council representative to the Isle of Wight Victim Support Scheme.
ACTION REQUIRED BY THE SELECT COMMITTEE
To consider making a recommendation to the Executive on the appointment of a representative to the Isle of Wight Victim Support Scheme.
BACKGROUND
The Executive, at its meeting on 28 September 2000, reviewed the process involved in the appointment of Council representatives to outside bodies. It was decided that vacancies to the majority of outside bodies should be should be filled in accordance with the wishes of the relevant Select Committee and then submitted to the Executive for decision.
Details of the vacancy have been circulated to Members of the Council with no nominations received.
It therefore falls to this committee to nominate an appropriate Council representative. Further details of the appointment can be obtained from the Members Support Officer, prior to the meeting.

The process for the appointment of Council representatives to outside bodies was approved by the Executive in September 2000.

All members of the Council have been notified of the vacancy.
