REPORT
FROM THE CABINET MEMBER FOR RESOURCES, AUDIT,
COUNCIL
EFFICIENCY AND CUSTOMER CHAMPION
TO
THE MEETING OF FULL COUNCIL
ON
WEDNESDAY, 19 APRIL 2006
If you were unable to attend the recently
held ‘show & tell demonstrations, we will be holding further sessions
covering the same content for your benefit on Thursday, 20th April
at 11.30am in the Council Chamber.
This was the first in a series of
Demos. As the system grows and we all learn more about its capabilities,
there will be further ‘show and tells’. If you have any specific
suggestions regarding the content, both in terms of the CorVu software and our
move from performance measurement to management please email me.
We will be rolling out a training
programme from 18th April to the end of May. This will be
provided by Angela Collis at the Learning Centre (Bugle House) and will include
the provision of your passwords for accessing the system.
The last couple of weeks have been dominated by
recruitment and training of temporary members of staff. The training of 5 temporary members of staff
will now have a positive impact on our performance that has fallen short of
what is acceptable over the last month.
The level of calls relating to Island Resident Parking Permits is still
quite high, however we are coping and our average call handling times are on
the target of 2 minutes.
A report was produced last week that dealt
specifically with resources required to maintain capacity that would allow us
to achieve our targets. We are
dependent on agency staff at the present time but this will reduce as new staff
come on board from 2nd May 2006.
Cllr Jilly Wood
Cabinet Member
Resources, Audit, Council Efficiency, &
Customer Champion.
