Isle of Wight Tourism Development Plan - Working Smarter for a Sustainable Future

Decision taken

a)               That the Tourism Development Plan be adopted.

 

b)               That the following motion be recommended to full Council :

 

“That Full Council endorse the vision for Island Tourism set out in the Tourism Plan, to create a high quality, thriving, competitive and sustainable tourism industry, which generates wealth, promotes environmental quality, enriches the quality of live and brings enjoyment to visitors”

Reason

To assist the Council in delivering improved services, consistent with its duty under the Local Government Act 1999.

Additional reasons

The amended recommendation aims to give a higher profile to the Plan, and to set it within a high level vision endorsed by the tourism industry and the Full Council.
