REPORT OF THE DIRECTORS

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE TOURISM PARTNERSHIP LIMITED

NOVEMBER 2004

The Directors submit a report for the period up to the date of the Company’s eighth Annual General Meeting.

The Company has not met since the last Annual General Meeting but there have been a number of key changes that have occurred during 2004.

Head of Tourism – a new Head of Tourism started in May 2004 and began work on a number of priorities :-

• Finalising the details of services to the industry in conjunction with the IW Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Industry (CCTI) and the VAAA.
• Creating a Tourism Development Plan
• Exploring a potential re-organisation of IOW Tourism to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Reviewing the marketing activity in line with the wider strategic aim of the TDP
• Resolving the problems with Brown Tourist Signing

Membership – The membership has now been passed to the CCTI although some businesses will remain in membership with IOW Tourism until renewals are due. By March 2005 all members will have had the opportunity to move to the CCTI.

The Regional Agenda – Tourism South East established the new IOW Tourist Board on the island. It is envisaged that this body will replace the Tourism Partnership but The Head of Tourism has being reviewing the role and representation of the Board as part of the TDP.

The DMS – although the main system went live in April and has proved to be beneficial to the Call Centre and TIC services it has been plagued with technical faults. It also still requires to be integrated with the web site and to have full on line booking capability.
