REPORT OF THE DIRECTORS

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE TOURISM PARTNERSHIP LIMITED

DECEMBER 2005

The Directors submit a report for the period up to the date of the Company’s ninth Annual General Meeting.

The Company has not met since the last AGM but there have been a number of key milestones that have occurred during 2005.

Tourism Development Plan:

Brown Signs

A new policy was adopted for Brown Signs and action initiated to resolve the signs that are currently unfit for purpose.

The DMS – the new VISIT 2 system went live in July. This replaced the previous VISIT 1 system that had failed to deliver web integration and online booking. The data held on the Destination Management System (DMS) is also scheduled to appear on the Englandnet system putting Isle of Wight operators into a new global market place.

Inspire Branding

The IW Economic Partnership secured funding to develop and promote a new brand for the Island. This was launched in June at the Nokia Music Festival.

New Political Administration

In the May elections a new political administration took control of the IW Council and initiated a Value for Money (VFM) study of the way Tourism Services are being delivered. A Commission in March 2006 will be looking at different options for both in house and externalised delivery. A new Steering Group to move forward the Regeneration of Sandown Bay was also established.
