OUTLINE OF ENQUIRY

 

To identify the progress being made on improving the performance targets in respect of determining minor and major planning applications.

 

REASON FOR ENQUIRY

 

To ensure that there is sustained improvement in the determination of planning applications so that the Council’s performance is in the upper quartile.

 

PROPOSED OUTCOME/S

 

To identify any actions or resources required to ensure continued improvement in the delivery of planning matters through the identification of areas where delays occur in the determination of minor and major planning applications.

 

TERMS OF REFERENCE

 

To review relevant Quarterly Performance Management data

 

To monitor progress following the Best Value Review of Planning Services Report and Action Plan from November 2003

 

To take into account the Audit Commission Inspection Report of Planning Services dated December 2004 and the subsequent Improvement Plan considered by the Council’s Executive at its meeting on 20 April 2005.

 

Use of mainstream Planning Service budget and Planning Delivery Grant.

 

What will not be included

 

The outcome of any individual planning application.
