NOTIFICATION
OF A CALL-IN UNDER THE PROTOCOL ON THE COUNCIL’S DECISION MAKING PROCESS
We
the undersigned being members of the Scrutiny Committee wish to apply the Call-In
procedure in respect of the following decision.
The
decision under delegated powers by the Cabinet Member for the Economy, The
Customer, Communications, Leisure and Tourism issued on 4 August 2006 and due
to be taken on 14 August 2006.

Procurement
of Strategic Transformational Partner Short Term Procurement Projects.
Proposed
decision to accept the proposal from PA and to deliver that proposal as a
project.
Called-in
because - Inadequate consultation with the public and absence of evidence for the
decision.
Brief
statement supporting reason for call-in :- Concerns about the delays experienced
with submission by PA on strategic partnership, the timetable of events leading
to the proposed decision and need for decision to be more publicly made.
Desired
outcome – To put all the evidence for the proposed decision in the public
domain and to assure the Committee that the decision will have full
transparency.
