External forces driving the Fire and Rescue Service modernisation programme have rendered redundant the Policy Commission’s involvement in the Options for Change project under the terms of reference agreed on the 14 July 2005. This line of enquiry will now be removed from the Commission’s work programme and thereafter any further developments with respect to this project will be reported Directly to Cabinet.
