PROPOSED OUTPUTS

 

To recommend to Cabinet the number of Hubs required, the activity to take place in them, the Hubs and the partners to be involved and their optimum geographical locations.

 

Hubs are defined as premises, located strategically in locations to serve the Council-related needs of residents and to make the best value-for-money use of customer-facing Council resources.

REASON FOR ENQUIRY

 

To improve customer service by locating sources of Council information and customer-facing processes close to local centres of population.

 

To provide something akin to a “one stop shop”, where residents can conduct their interface with the Council conveniently and in person.

 

To improve the cost effectiveness of the Council’s provision of information and customer service.

 

To investigate opportunities for servicing home-based and travelling Council employees from drop-in facilities away from County Hall.

 

enabling more queries to be answered at the first point of contact.

 

To provide a customer facing service which reduces the need for the customer to understand how the organisation operates.

 

 

To compleiment the roles of Town and Parish Councils and Ward Councillors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PROPOSED OUTCOME OF POLICY IMPLEMENTATION

 

To provide Island residents with co-located customer service centres, including such range ofion venues of customer facing services and interfacing public services as may be required in a particular location.  It is expected that co-located public services will include elements of health, education and community security where appropriateusing Channel Management processes.

 

The Commissions evidence taking will be cross referenced with the Council’s Strategic Asset Management Programme at all stages.

 

It is implicit in this project that the Commissions recommendations shall pursue greatly improved efficiency in the utilisation of property assets.
