About Transport 2000
Transport 2000 Campaigns represents the key transport
interests of around 40 environmental groups, transport organisations, and
transport unions. It brings together people who seek to reduce the
environmental and social effects of transport through encouraging less use of
cars, lorries and planes and more use of rail, buses, trams, cycling and
walking. Membership of TRANSPORT 2000 includes Stagecoach, Go-Ahead, UNISON,
and National Federation of Women’s Institutes. Locally, Island Line was the
first of the privatised rail operators to support TRANSPORT 2000 and Southern
Vectis was the first bus company to support the organisation.

¨ Decisions should be made on
researched evidence and analysis of possible outcomes.
¨ Decisions on any one aspect of
transport and land use always have wider implications.
¨ Changes in parking provision change
traffic levels and congestion.
¨ There are quick cheap fixes for
congestion.
A power point presentation will accompany the presentation,
which will include researched evidence to support the points made in the
presentation.
