This matter has been discussed by the property Asset Management Task Group. The Chairman has asked that the Select Committee should be made aware of the situation relating to this property.

BACKGROUND
The Property Asset Management Task Group has been considering a range of accommodation issues affecting a number of Council properties. At the meeting of the Task Group on 20 March 2003 consideration was given to the future use of Quay House and the length of lease that should be offered in the light of potential development of the Newport Harbour Area.
Resulting from discussion held on site with the Portfolio Holder for Resources and the potential leasee it is intended that a decision will be made at the Executive due to be held on 4 June 2003. A copy of the draft report in outlining the details is attached.
