Provision of Polling Stations

Isle Of Wight County Constituency

1. The Isle of Wight Council has carried out a review of all of the buildings used as Polling Stations on the Island, and whilst the majority have been rated as acceptable, as a result of various submissions a number have been identified that do not meet the standards we would expect in terms of facilities and access for the disabled, and are unlikely to be adapted in the near future.

2. The changes proposed to a number of locations are outlined below:

3. It is intended that these changes will be implemented in time for the European Parliamentary Elections due to be held on Thursday 10^th June 2004.

4. If any elector has any comments on the proposals, then they should be directed to the Electoral Services Officer, Isle Of Wight Council, County Hall, Newport, Isle Of Wight, PO30 1UD by Friday 6^th February 2004.
