Reasons: |
The application was refused contrary to officers recommendation as members felt the scale and mass of the building were too large and dominant, bearing in mind the nature of the surrounding area and that additional traffic generation from the number of flats proposed would be likely to cause hazard to users of the adjoining highways. The proposal would adversely affect the character of the surrounding area and the amenities of nearby residents. It would therefore be contrary to policies G4, G10, D1, D2 and TR7 of the Isle of Wight Unitary Development Plan. |
