RESOLVED :

 

THAT the Minutes of the meeting held on 20 January 2004 be confirmed.

 

88.             DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

 

Interests were declared in the following matters:

 

Mr A A Taylor declared a personal interest in minute 89 – 1 – rear of 47 & 49 Great Preston Road, with access off Elm Close, Ryde, as the some of the objectors are known to him.

 

Mr A A Taylor declared a personal interest in minute 89 – 3 – Land adjacent 17-18, Winchester Close, Newport, as some of the objectors are known to him.

Comment:

Members thought that the access for the site was inadequate

 

Decision:

Contrary to Officers’ recommendation, Members refused planning permission

 

Reasons:

Application was refused for reasons of substandard and inadequate access, subject to visibility.

 

 

90.             URGENT BUSINESS

 

The Chairman agreed to the following item of urgent business, as a decision was required before the next meeting.

 

(i)         E/24579/B – Enforcement Notice relating to use of part of premises for the preparation of fish and shellfish, The Boathouse, Blake & Spencer, Esplanade, Ventnor, Isle of Wight

 

            Members considered whether in the light of recent correspondence from the Planning Inspectorate, following a submission of an appeal, they should withdraw the current Enforcement Notice and re-serve or whether to continue through the appeal process with the existing notice

 

RESOLVED :

 

THAT the period of compliance on the existing notice be extended by eight months to the end of 30 September 2004 on the understanding that the appeal is withdrawn immediately.
