10.             MINUTES

 

RESOLVED :

 

THAT subject to Minute 9,TCP/28151/D Pt OS Parcel 8700, land at North Fairlee Farm, Fairlee Road, Newport – A letter was received from the Applicants Agent, but had not been conveyed to Members, however the Development Control Manager had investigated the matter and was satisfied that the letter contained no new information pertaining to the application.  A letter of apology had been sent to the Applicants Agent for this oversight - the Minutes of the meeting held on 21 May 2004 be confirmed.

12.             ITEM DEFERRED FROM THE LAST MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE AND THE SITE INSPECTION MEETING

 

The Chairman agreed to the following item that was deferred from Committee meeting held on the 11 May 2004 to be heard.

 

TCP/13058/D – 9 Pier Street, Sandown

 

Members considered whether the submission of revised plans for a three/four storey building to form 5 flats with retail unit on the ground floor (as opposed to a four/five storey building, to form 7 flats and retail unit on ground floor), would meet the Committees instruction to reduce the overall reduction in the height of the building.

 

A letter from the local Member was received and read out.  Members requested that the any windows on the side elevations be checked to see if they overlook the neighbouring properties and if necessary, to ask for them to be obscured and fixed windows.

 

RESOLVED :

 

THAT Conditional planning approval, subject to the conditions set out in the Part II Register

 

13.             URGENT BUSINESS

 

The Chairman agreed to the following item of urgent business, as a decision was needed before the next meeting

 

TCP/25625/A   Demolition of garage & conservatory; replacement conservatory; 2 storey side extension to form replacement garage with 2 bedrooms over; 2 storey rear extension to provide additional living accommodation, (revised scheme).  36 Coronation Avenue, Cowes

 

Members gave consideration to whether or not to grant planning permission for the above application.  The application is back before the Committee for consideration as originally submitted by the applicants, Members where informed however, that the applicants were prepared to provide screening along the boundary between their property and No. 34 Coronation Avenue, by reinforcing existing trees and shrubs.

 

RESOLVED :

 

THAT conditional planning approval be granted, subject to the conditions set out in the Part II Register

 

14.       PAPER A - TCP/19342/B – Unauthorised deposit of inert waste at former Brading Golf Course, Carpenters Road, Brading

 

Item deferred for the need for a screening opinion and the need to seek clarification on a number of issues.  Members require response to a number of pertinent questions that need to be answered in separate sections (with clarity).  Further matters include the implications, legal advice, role of Environment Agency and English Nature, Counsel’s view, what we saw on site and what options are open to Members.  A clearer coloured map will be produced to show the extent of the fill.

 

RESOLVED :

 

THAT item be deferred and determined by the Development Control Committee on a later date.
