Title : REVIEW OF PUBLICATION OF MEMBERS ATTENDANCE FIGURES

REPORT OF THE MONITORING OFFICER

BACKGROUND

1. At the last meeting of the Committee it was agreed that the publication of the Members Attendance Figures should be reviewed – although the existing arrangements should remain in place for the next publication period (1 November 2003 to 30 April 2004).

2. The Figures for this period have now been published. Following the publication of the initial set of figures a number of amendments were made to our internal systems to improve on the collection and then preparation of the data. This has made a significant saving in the amount of time required to produce the figures.

3. Due to changed priorities it has not been possible to undertake the review as set out in the paper considered at the last meeting. I propose to undertake this work at a time to be agreed between the Chairman of the Committee and other stakeholders.

4. In the meantime the published figures for this year will be available in paper format at the meeting additionally they will be available on the Council’s web site – with a link from each members page.

RECOMMENDATION

That the position be noted and that the existing scheme remain until such time as the review is completed.
