REPORT OF THE STRATEGIC DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SERVICES & HOUSING

1.        SUMMARY

To consider the 2002/03 Service Plan for the Policy, Performance and Resource Services (formerly Central Support Services) of the Social Services and Housing Directorate

2.        BACKGROUND

2.1      This item is to afford Members the opportunity to raise questions on the activities of the Policy, Performance and Resource Services and to scrutinise the Service Plan 2002/03, copies of which have been previously circulated.

2.2      The services provided by Policy, Performance and Resource underpin, monitor and support all operational activities of the Directorate, and include Contracting and Purchasing, Financial Services, Financial Assessments and Welfare Benefits, Complaints and User Rights, Communication, Business Development, Best Value and Performance Management, Research and Training support, Data, Information and IT, plus the Resource Section which includes Asset Management, Risk Management, Health & Safety and administration/ staffing issues.
