HOMELESSNESS MONITORING AND NOMINATION STATISTICS

REPORT OF THE ACTING STRATEGIC DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND HOUSING

SUMMARY

This report gives members the opportunity to receive Homeless Monitoring and Nomination Statistics for January (month 10), for scrutiny purposes

BACKGROUND

Attached at Appendix 1, are the monthly Homeless Statistics, and at Appendix 2 the monthly Homeless Nomination Statistics for January (Month 10). In addition at Appendix 3 are the B&B statistics, showing the figures being monitored by the Government B&B Unit.

Members requested additional information to be included and this is added in the existing format. For future monitoring reports it is hoped to trial a more graphical presentation of date using charts and graphs.

Members will note from the data that numbers of presentations and acceptance remain stable. Households in temporary accommodation continues to rise and bed and breakfast usage remains broadly in line with ODPM targets. A positive indicator is the slight reduction in the number of households in B&B for more than 6 weeks.
