The current ACCISS system is old and in need of replacement. A bid for funding has been made under the PSA to enable a new management package to be purchased which will address the needs of the directorate for the next few years.

Admissions decisions have been devolved down to team managers and a multi-disciplinary panel is not necessary. The councils PSA target five includes the need to maintain a significantly increased number of people with intensive care needs being maintained in their own homes.
