House Improvement Zones
1.
The following areas
have been identified for additional assistance in line with the findings of the
House Condition Survey 2002;
·
Ryde – with an
unfitness level of 5.8%
·
Cowes – with an
unfitness level of 5.2%
·
Ventnor – with an
unfitness level of 3.4%
2.
All other areas
identified by the survey currently have unfitness levels below the average for
the Island.
3.
House Improvement
Zones will be introduced in those
areas identified over the lifetime of this strategy in order of highest
unfitness.
4.
Areas will be
declared by issue of a public notice 6 months before they come into operation.
5.
An area may be
brought forward to ensure that maximum use is made of available match funding,
partnership working or other relevant scheme.
6. The council may decide that another area warrants inclusion as a House Improvement Zone because of its ability to draw in match funding. Where match funding can be obtained officers shall seek a recommendation from members to run a scheme in an area not previously identified.
