Title: SELECT LIST OF CONTRACTORS AND CONSULTANT ENGINEERS
PORTFOLIO HOLDER - TRANSPORT
SUMMARY
To consider the select list of contractors and consultant engineers as set out in Appendix A and B.
BACKGROUND
In accordance with Standing Order 6.4 Selective Tendering, advertisements were placed in the appropriate publications, Local Government News, Government Opportunities, Contract Weekly, the New Civil Engineer and the County Press for interested contractors and consulting engineers to apply for inclusion on the Highway and Transportation select list for the categories as set out in Appendix A. Interested parties were asked to complete the corporate questionnaire and submit all relevant supporting documentation.
Each company has subsequently been assessed with regard to their financial standing, health and safety record and previous experience, with references being taken up in this regard. Out of a total of thirty-eight contractors and forty consultant engineers who applied, thirty-five and thirty respectively have met the criteria and are included in Appendix A and B.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
Savings on resource and expenditure for advertising on an individual basis.
RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the list be accepted and implemented with immediate effect and run for a period of three years. |
