ENVIRONMENT AND TRANSPORT SELECT COMMITTEE - 26 SEPTEMBER 2001
REVIEW OF APPOINTMENTS TO OUTSIDE BODIES
REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE SERVICES
SUMMARY/PURPOSE
To consider the appointment of members to a number of outside bodies.
BACKGROUND
The Executive, at its meeting on 28 September 2000, reviewed the process involved in the appointment of Council representatives to outside bodies. It was decided that vacancies to the majority of outside bodies should be filled in accordance with the wishes of the relevant Select Committee and then submitted to the Executive for decision.
Nominations have been sought from all Members of the Council and where the appropriate number of nominations have been received for the vacancies available, these have been filled accordingly.
After carrying out this process the outside bodies, where vacancies still exist or where more nominations have been received than required, that fall to this Committee are :-
| Outside Body | No of Reps | Proposed Nominations | Existing representatives |
| Standing Conference on Problems Associated with the Coastline (SCOPAC) | 1 + 1 deputy | Mr J Effemey Mrs J L Wareham Mr M O Morgan Huws |
The Committee is therefore requested to make appropriate recommendations to fill the vacant positions.
If no Council members wish to fill the vacancies then these will be circulated to the Town and Parish Councils, where appropriate.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
Travelling and subsistence allowances can be paid in respect of attendance at meetings of these outside bodies.
RECOMMENDATIONS
That appropriate appointments be recommended.
