PLANNING SERVICES BEST VALUE IMPROVEMENT PLAN - UPDATE

 

REPORT OF THE HEAD OF PLANNING SERVICES

 

REASON FOR SELECT COMMITTEE CONSIDERATION

 

Members will recall that at their meeting of the 29th September 2004 they wished to regularly review the progress of the Planning Services Best Value Improvement Plan.  This is the first six monthly review of that Plan.

 

ACTION REQUIRED BY THE SELECT COMMITTEE

 

To review the progress of the Improvement Plan.

 

BACKGROUND

 

Extract of the Improvement Plan to April 2004.  Items shaded are those, which have been completed, Where items have not been completed, reference is made to actions being taken to address any outstanding issues. 

 

RELEVANT PLANS, POLICIES, STRATEGIES AND PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

 

The Planning Services Improvement Plan was developed during the Best Value review of Planning services, which took place in 2003.  The Plan contains targets and performance indicators, and forms the basis of the services Service Plan for 2004.

 

CONSULTATION PROCESS

 

 Consultation took place with all service users as part of the Best Value Review.

 

FINANCIAL, LEGAL, CRIME AND DISORDER IMPLICATIONS

 

 There are currently no implications for the above as this report is for members information in terms of progress only.
