APPOINTMENT TO AN OUTSIDE BODY – RYDE DEVELOPMENT TRUST

 

REPORT OF THE HEAD OF LEGAL AND DEMOCRATIC SERVICES

 

REASON FOR SELECT COMMITTEE CONSIDERATION

 

This report has been submitted because we have more nominations than vacancies for appointments to Ryde Development Trust.

 

ACTION REQUIRED BY THE SELECT COMMITTEE

 

Recommend to the Executive two Members to be the Council’s representatives on Ryde Development Trust.

 

BACKGROUND

 

The aim of Ryde Development Trust is to work within the priority regeneration areas in Ryde, this work is focussed on the three most deprived wards. The skills required from the nominees are:

 

 

A request for nominations was sent to Ryde Members in accordance with our usual process. Following the circulation period these Councillors have put their names forward.

 

 

Since the end of the timescale for submissions of nominations Mr E. Fox has asked that his name also be put forward for nomination.

 

All the above have been asked to submitted a short explanation as to why they should be appointed to the vacancy and these are attached at Appendix A. All the above have also been invited to attend the meeting should the Committee wish to ask them any questions.
