This report is to provide members with an update on the 2003
Annual Events Programme

As members will recall on 11 December 2001, the
Executive resolved that the events programme should be a three year rolling
programme, reviewed annually, with a five year forward overview to identify
major local, regional and national anniversaries or events.
Members will receive a
presentation on the annual programme which for 2003 includes :

Cowes Week, Isle of Wight Music Festival, Walking
Festival, Cycling Festival, Extreme sports |

20 main events |
Ranging from the British Cod Championships to the Yarmouth
Old Gaffers, to an international kite festival at Chale |

20 Festivals/ regattas |
Islandwide community events |
The presentation will detail the 2003 events programme and how it meets
the Council’s strategic objectives, together with information on both
historical and projected key performance indicators and event development.
