Successfully delivering 4 SRB programmes, RDP programme and Healthy Living Scheme.

 

24 projects have been started under this programme covering community capacity building, business support, education and training and infrastructure projects.  Considerable activity has taken place within the community to ensure that the programme meets the needs of the local area.  The Ryde Partnership has established a base in Ryde and is looking to establish a Development Trust.

This programme is designed to support social inclusion activities and has been running for three years.  It will be completed in March 2004.  There have been 40 projects supported under this scheme covering capacity building, community development, support for disaffected young people, community safety, training and education and extra support for young children and older persons.

This programme has been running for 4 years and will complete in March 2003.  Enormous progress has been made in the development of the partnership and it now has a sustainable structure and delivery arm.  There is a strategy that has been implemented and a range of 33 different projects have been delivered in the area.  Particularly successful have been the Conservation Area Scheme, The Youth Internet project, Play area enhancements and a number of joint initiatives with Primary Schools, Middle Schools and the High School.

This programme is in its 6th year and completes in March 2003.  The key achievement in this year was the completion of the Innovation Centre on St. Cross Business Park and it is now 50% filled.

This programme, started in November 2001 and is a 5 year programme to fund activities that have the potential to improve holistic health and well-being and compliment the Island Plan for Health & Well-Being. A development officer & a monitoring & evaluation officer have been in post since February 2002.  There are 19 projects within the programme which can be loosely grouped into 4 categories:

Increasing access to sport & leisure,

Referral to complementary activities,

Promoting well-being in community settings,

Skills development for healthier lifestyles.

 

15 projects are underway with another 4 projects in the development stages.

The RDP supported 40 projects across the Island.  These covered both social and  economic projects including the America’s Cup Jubilee Education Project, Angel Community Radio, community hall refurbishment, outreach services, environmental projects, a business study for the abattoir, branding and marketing research, as well as supporting the successful launch of the Green Island Awards at the Sustainable Tourism Conference in November.
