RESOLVED :
THAT the minutes from the meeting held on the 16 June 2006 be confirmed.
8. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
None declared.

EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS
RESOLVED :
1. THAT under the Council’s Constitution, specifically the Access to Information Procedure Rules contained within the Constitution, the publicand press be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business, namely Agenda item number 5, on the grounds that there is likely to be disclosure of exempt information as defined in Category 3 of paragraph 10(d) of the Council’s Access to Information Procedure Rules.
2. It was agreed to allow the Council’s Chief Legal Advisor to remain for the appeal hearing as an observer.

APPEAL HEARING - REDUNDANCY
The Chairman welcomed all those present
and introduced members of the Committee. He outlined the procedure that the
meeting would follow.
Following representations from the
Strategic Director of Economic Development and Regeneration and the appellant,
all parties withdrew, whilst the Committee adjourned to receive advice and to
consider the appeal.
Upon reconvening the Chairman informed
those present that, in reaching its decision, the Committee had reviewed the
evidence in respect of whether there was a genuine redundancy situation and
then had to establish whether due process had been followed.
RESOLVED :
THAT, having listened to all the evidence presented,
the Committee unanimously decided not to uphold the appeal against dismissal on
the grounds of redundancy.
