Title : QUARTERLY FINANCIAL AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT REPORT – QUARTER 3

REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR OF CHILDRENS SERVICES AND THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

PURPOSE

1. This report contains financial and performance data for the quarter ended 31 December, which will be considered by the Cabinet at its meeting on 6 March 2007.

BACKGROUND

2. The Committee’s terms of reference include the requirement of:

“Monitoring the overall performance of the Council by receiving regular performance reports.”

3. Annex 1 to the report sets out financial information, and Annex 2 contains performance data for the latest quarter.

RECOMMENDATIONS

4. The Committee is therefore invited to:

(a) Consider the financial and performance data provided in the annexes, and in particular the results for the key indicators.

(b) Highlight any of the indicators which show exceptional (good and poor) performance.

(c) Consider and make recommendations for the Cabinet to consider at its meeting on 6^th March.
